Lehigh Valley home with a newly installed architectural asphalt shingle roof

Roofing

Roofing across the
Lehigh Valley and
eastern PA.

Replacement, repair, storm work and free inspections. Licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and every rep can be checked by name before you let them in.

Where to start. If your roof is leaking, you want a repair. If it's past 20 years or damaged across several slopes, you're looking at replacement. If a storm went through, it may be an insurance claim rather than something you pay for. All three start the same way, with someone getting on the roof and telling you what's there.

Roofing options and material

What goes on the roof

A roof is a system rather than a pile of shingles, and most of what decides how long it lasts is under the part you can see.

Architectural asphalt shingle
What goes on the overwhelming majority of homes here. Laminated, dimensional, and rated to 130 mph wind when nailed and sealed correctly. Thirty to fifty year material warranties depending on the line.
The GAF system
Leak barrier in the valleys and at the eaves, deck protection across the field, starter strip at the edges, then shingles and ridge cap. Installed as one system it warrants as one system, which is what the Golden Pledge covers.
Standing seam metal
Long life and low maintenance, and the right answer on porch roofs, additions and low slope sections that shingles cannot shed off. Costs more up front and usually outlives two shingle roofs.
Low slope membrane
Rear additions, porches and bay window caps are often too flat for shingles. Those get a membrane instead. Putting shingles on a pitch that cannot shed is the single most common leak found on inspections.
Ventilation
Ridge vent sized to the intake at the soffits. Get this wrong and the attic cooks the shingles from underneath, which is why some roofs fail years early on the sunny side.
Slate
Plenty of older homes here have it. Whether it is worth repairing or has been patched past the point of sense is a look-first conversation, and you will get a straight read rather than an automatic pitch for a replacement.

Why it matters here

The system, not the shingle

Being GAF Master Elite means the whole roof goes on as one system, leak barrier and deck protection and ventilation included, and it gets warranted as one thing.

That's what unlocks the Golden Pledge: 50 years non-prorated on material defects, 25 to 30 years on workmanship, tear-off and disposal included. Terms are set by GAF and vary by system.

President's Club is the part almost nobody local has. You have to be Master Elite first, which is about the top 2 percent of roofers in the country, and then fewer than half of those make the cut.

Straight answers

Questions we get asked

How do I know if I need a repair or a replacement?

Age and spread. Under about 15 years with damage in one spot is a repair. Past 20, or damage across several slopes, is a replacement.

Two layers already up there pushes it toward replacement too, because a third isn't allowed and tearing off two costs more than one.

Do you charge for an inspection?

No.

Someone gets on the roof, photographs what they find, and tells you what it needs. If that turns out to be nothing, that's what you'll hear.

How fast can you get out here?

Same or next day for anything leaking, and within a few days for everything else.

After hours you'll get voicemail, but it gets checked and you get a call back fast. Water getting in overnight causes more damage than the original hole, so it does not sit.

Do you work in New Jersey?

Yes. Licensed in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Most of the work is eastern PA, from the Lehigh Valley down through Bucks, Delaware and Montgomery counties.

Start with the roof,
not the sales pitch.

Free inspection, photographed, with a straight answer on what it needs. If that's nothing, that's what you'll be told.
